The School of Photography Vienna started a refugee project in May this year, in cooperation with the Volkshilfe Wien, as part of the project class. To mark World Refugee Day, PhotoQuarter Vienna will be presenting the photography exhibition “Unwanted?” on the 20.06.2013, offering the opportunity to see the first photographs resulting from this project. This exhibition provides an insight into the reality of life for refugees in Austria and shows them as they really are: people like you and me!

Exhibiting photographers: Andreas Svirak, Markus Hippmann, Sonja Bachmayer und Ritchy Pobaschnig.

In addition, the School of Photography Vienna together with the Volkshilfe Vienna will be showing the award-winning documentary film "Little Alien", from the Austrian director Nina Kusturica.  Kusturica reports on the lives of young refugees in Austria in a sensitive way and the film was produced in 2009 by the Vienna film production company Mobilefilm. After the presentation there will be the opportunity to talk to one of the young men featured in the film.
Together let’s show solidarity this World Refugee Day with those who have not landed on the sunny side of life! We look forward to your visit! Admission is free!
